I love how full of life clay is—literally, in the form of bacteria fermenting in the bucket of reclaim, or symbolically, for the many extremes it goes through to become a completed piece. Even after it is complete, the rest of its life is spent trying not to drop it. It is a process as beautiful and as fragile as living. I believe in giving my clay a good life. Take it out for a walk. Sing to the clay. Praise the clay whether it cracks or not, it tried as you tried. Keep pushing the limits.
