Maintaining an art practice is essential to the recognition and maturation of my inherited experience. By working from my mind and largely without reference, I have let my stories come more freely than I could perceive any other way. Through the course of this work, I discovered a connection between my art and my genealogy, from what is now Central Europe, Ireland, and the UK. Things like the importance of gold, an afterlife focus, cutouts, scrolls of vines meant to capture evil spirits—even my intent to build a life-size figurative statue—seem to run in the family.

My current body of work is titled with a recommended course of action. By wondering more about what is between us that we cannot see or speak, we have a chance to understand each other and learn more about ourselves. This is your invitation to invite the invisible.
